Week Twenty-Five

More Hipstamatic. I assure you I do use my proper camera, it's just not with me very often these days, and a daily shot is so much easier with the iPhone.

More outfit shots coming soon, too. I've been taking them, but haven't put them on the laptop quite yet.

Sunday
Bunny! Hard to see but it's there, centre frame.

Monday
Hot. Bought ice lollies. 'Nuff said.

Tuesday
I love this scrap yard sign.

Wednesday
Walking home.

Thursday
Up over the canal.

Friday
Waiting for a lift to go out for drinks.

Saturday
A nice street in Marchmont: on my way home from a Bar Mitzvah service.

and...

Waiting outside on Friday night. I love this soft blazer, but it's hard to keep the lapels down properly.

June 5th I went to meet a photographer in Bruntsfield. This photo is a cheat one, taken on a later date when the clothes and myself had dried completely after my drenching on the day.

Sparkly strap singlet: Lippy, New Zealand, 2008.
Skinny jeans: Just Jeans, New Zealand, 2009.
Jacket: FCUK, David Jones Australia, 2010. (hmm a pattern here..)

Scottish Word of the Week #3

I'm putting these two terms in one post, as they are so commonly used together...

Ken

Origins of usage:
[Old English cennan; related to Old Norse kenna to perceive, Old High German kennen to make known]

Hen

Origins of usage:
[Hen as slang for "woman" dates from 1620s; hence hen party "gathering of women,"
first recorded 1887].

"Need a bag, hen?"
"It's no' my problem, but I help anyway, ken?"

Scottish Word of the Week #2

Close

June 2nd - What I'm Wearing

Man, I don't feel great today. Exhaustion is a bitch.

Top: Uni Qlo, London, 2009.
Jeans: Lucky, San Francisco, 2006.
Dress: Product, purchased at Lippy, New Zealand, 2008.

Orange dress suited well for work, but after I just wanted to chill/grocery shop in my tee and jeans. The photo is awfully Calvin Klein model (and blurry!), which was not actually intentional, but hey. Whatevs.

Dinner then sleep tonight!

Summer 2010 - What I'm Wearing.

Today was the first day of Summer 2010 - What I'm Wearing.

Top: Uni Qlo, London, 2009.
'Star' dress: H&M, London, 2008.
Leggings: Uni Qlo, London, 2009.

For the season, I'll be posting my outfit choices for work/play. Unfortunately, summer hasn't quite arrived here in Edinburgh just yet. I wore this outfit for my first UK live performance at Acoustic Edinburgh.

Week Twenty-Two

Sunday
Chillin in the Princes St. Gardens. Note that all of these people (including ourselves) are within a large area that is cordoned off with signs: "Keep off the grass". On a 24 degree day in Edinburgh? Yeah right.

Monday
My journal is improved with sticker photos from my new Polaroid Pogo photo printer.

Tuesday
Dave made us an amazing salad for dinner with some garlic/herb bread.. (don't worry, I followed it up with Haagen-Dazs).

Wednesday
Reading a Lost recap on my lunch break (trying to figure out what the fuss is about). Television Without Pity = often more fun than watching the show itself.

Thursday
Glasgow BNL tickets arrived! Now it's time to get excited about it.

Friday
My FCUK dress. Along with the jacket it's leading me to a new label obsession.

Saturday
Waiting for the bus to go in for Paul's birthday drinks. Note: this was nearly 10pm. By the time I got into the club, then into another bar, the sun was only just setting. This is how summer here can be awesome and yet very bizarre.

and...

Any colour I had in Australia is loooooong gone.
